Johaug was a full 39.5 seconds ahead of second Heidi Weng and 47.5 seconds ahead of third Helene Marie Fosseholm.

Already after 1.9 kilometers, Johaug had pulled away and given himself a lead of 10 seconds down to Weng, and as so often before with Johaug, the distance then continued to grow throughout the race.
