Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, President of the General Authority for Sports

The Council of Ministers headed by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued a decision appointing Dr. Ahmed Hamid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, under the chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the General Sports Authority.

The council is responsible for setting plans, programs, systems and regulations to ensure the organization, revitalization and development of the sports sector in the country, and to work on proposing legislation for organizing this sector in the country.

The functions of the council include forming boards of directors of sports federations, issuing decisions announcing sports bodies, and deciding on complaints and grievances that are submitted to the authority from the sports authorities in the country.

The council also works on organizing and developing work in the authority in terms of adopting general policies and strategies, systems, regulations and work plans necessary to organize work in the authority.

This decision comes within the framework of strengthening the role of boards of directors in the federal government, raising levels of efficiency, developing the governmental administrative system, and providing better services.
