Mexican police have arrested mixed martial arts fighter "MMA", Mexican Irwin Rivera, 31, on charges of trying to stab his sisters, so that his fight in the International Federation Championship was canceled.

The official website of mixed martial arts "MMA" said in a statement: "The Federation is aware of the recent incident, as information was received from the fighter's business administration stating that his behavior in the recent period may indicate a mental health problem."

He added, "The accusations are very worrying, and we are gathering additional information. Rivera was supposed to contest a fight, on March 31, but the fight was canceled."
