In a press release, Sirius announced on Thursday that the players lack confidence in coach Esa Määttä and that they have therefore broken the contract.

Today, former coach Olle Gabrielsson took over the team together with former players Andreas Eskhult and Viktor Broberg.

And under the leadership of the new coaching trio, Sirius offered a goal celebration and a 9-6 victory against Motala.

After the match, Esa Määttä's son, Sirius captain Teemu Määttä, was clearly affected by the last 24 hours.

- He told me to fight and play for the team.

I hope he is home and proud of me today.

This is team sports and we have to respect it, but today it was for my dad, says a teary-eyed Teemu Määttä, who became a three-goal shooter in the match.

Led 8-0 after 44 minutes

When 44 minutes had been played at Studenternas in Uppsala, the home team Sirius had managed to get an 8-0 lead.

After, among other things, Määttäs' three corner goals.

Visiting Motala managed to get a reduction just before the break but the situation looked hopeless.

- They do well, but this is not a normal dividend, anyone who has seen bandy in their life understands that, Motala's Anders Persson told Sportbladet Play during the break.

But in the second half, Motala woke up and continued the hunt for a draw.

In the middle of the second act, the score was suddenly 8-4 and the guests began to approach, at the same time as Sirius behaved more and more passively.

Despite Motala taking over more and more, the team never caught up and Sirius won 9-6 - Uppsala team's third straight match without a loss.
