After an almost three-week break over Christmas and New Year, the biathlon world cup started again, with a sprint in the German Oberhof.

Sweden took as many as 15 podium places before the turn of the year with Hanna Öberg in the lead, and the form seems to be intact for the Swede.

Hanna Öberg shot full in both horizontal and vertical shooting and took second place in Friday's sprint.

- A perfect start to the new year, says SVT's expert Björn Ferry.

Eckhoff fastest

For the Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff, who was almost 30 seconds faster in the track, there was nothing to do.

Elvira Öberg shot full in the horizontal shot but then missed one in the standing.

In the finish, little sister Öberg was outside the top 10.

Linn Persson shot full and came ahead of Öberg, but she was a minute behind Eckhoff after a slow ride on a demanding course, where most had it tough.

Mona Brorsson blocked a total of three shots but was almost three minutes behind.
