The Bochum regional court threatens Bettina Michel, the daughter of the football manager Rudi Assauer, who died two years ago, with imprisonment.

This is what “Zeit” reports in its current issue.

The court sentenced the 55-year-old in July 2020 to prepare a list of her father's assets.

But Bettina Michel, who had looked after her father for seven years at home in the Ruhr area town of Herten, let deadlines pass and did not submit a list for months.

Therefore, according to the report, the court set a fine of 1000 euros in December.

Should Michel fail to pay, the court ruled that she would have to be detained for four days.

Michel's lawyer explains in an interview with the weekly newspaper that this decision is not yet final.

It was "incorrect" that Michel had "not created" the requested list of assets.

There were "delays".

What happened to Assauer's fortune?

The question of wealth is important because Rudi Assauer owned almost nothing at the end of his life.

In 2010, Assauer's assets were still 2.3 million euros according to his tax documents.

When he died, according to “Zeit”, there was little more of it than an old Opel.

According to the paper, there is much to suggest that it was looted.

Corresponding reports were published in mid-August 2020.

Then the public prosecutor's office in Essen started an investigation.

Rudi Assauer's real estate and his money were not only available to his daughter, but also to his former general representatives: the former secretary Sabine Söldner and a friend of the former Schalke manager, the plastic surgeon Heinz Bull. All three of them denied having embezzled money through their lawyers.

"For everyone a double holiday after dinner!"

Many football celebrities were guests in Gelsenkirchen at the memorial service for the former Schalke manager Rudi Assauer.

Goalkeeper legend Dieter Burdenski managed to make the mourners laugh with a little anecdote.
