If you have followed the Tour de France 2020, you necessarily know it.

The very offensive Marc Hirschi will no longer ride for DSM (ex-Sunweb), the new team of Romain Bardet.

This announced the termination of the contract - one year from its term - of its Swiss rider with immediate effect.

No explanation was given.

Aged 22, Hirschi won the Tour de France stage last year, arriving in Sarran (Corrèze) then the Flèche Wallonne.

He also climbed on the world championship podium at Imola (3rd) and finished second in Liège-Bastogne-Liège.

The Bernese, world champion hopes in 2018, joined the Sunweb team in 2019, playing at the highest level in the world (WorldTour).

A big team is waiting for him

The name of Hirschi's future team is not yet known, but the names of Ineos and Trek are already circulating in the air.

“It was agreed that the agreement will be terminated with immediate effect and that no further observations will be made,” added DSM, wishing the rider “the best for the rest of his career” and thanking him for what he brought to the team.
