The former OL coach was not renewed at the head of Beijing Guoan.

He was replaced on the bench by Slaven Bilic, recently dismissed from his coaching duties on the West Bromwich Albion side.

"After friendly negotiations, Bruno Genesio will no longer occupy the post of head coach of the Beijing Guoan team at the end of his contract," said the capital club in a message posted on the network Chinese social Weibo.

So close to the title

Under the leadership of Genesio, 54 years old and former Lyon coach (2015-2019), the Beijing club reached the semi-finals of the last season of the Chinese Super League (CSL) where he was eliminated in early November by the Guangzhou Evergrande (3-1), coached by Fabio Cannavaro.

The previous season, Bruno Genesio, who arrived in the summer of 2019, during the exercise, had already failed near the title, in second place two points behind Guangzhou.
