Ebba Andersson started as third in today's classic hunt start over 10 kilometers.

Quite early on, she chased yesterday's winner Jessie Diggins in a group with Russian Julia Stupak and American Rosie Brennan.

Diggins then rolled over after a turn and then the four of them were in the lead group.

Quite early on, it was clear that the winner would be among the four and even if Ebba Andersson tried to pull up, she never got loose.

Instead, it was a sprint battle with Stupak and Diggins and there the Swede was second strongest.

It was a Russian victory by a margin of seven tenths down to Ebba Andersson.

- It was a very tough race, but also very tactical, says the Russian before she gets emotional:

- I also want to say that it is a year since my son was born.

I want to say congratulations to him.

I miss him very much.

The podium was Andersson's 16th in the World Cup, but she has not won yet.

For Frida Karlsson, who was injured yesterday when she trained in the hotel room, the hunt started with a thirteenth place.

Ebba Andersson is now sixth in the total in the Tour de Ski, while Karlsson loses a place and is now four.
