Linköping is second to last in the SHL table.

Only Brynäs is worse and then they also have five games less played.

Tuesday's announcement that the club is firing head coach Bert Robertsson therefore did not come completely unexpectedly.

From now on, it is Johan Åkerman and Daniel Eriksson who take over the main responsibility for the men's team.

SVT's expert Jonas Andersson believes that Linköping had to act now.

- Somewhere the bottom is almost reached.

Even though they are second to last, they are close to Brynäs who played five games less.

It is a bit of an emergency situation for Linköping, I understand that the organization is acting, says Jonas Andersson.

Linköping has, among other things, seven losses in the last ten matches.

But it is not only Robertsson who is responsible for the weak results.

Jonas Andersson believes that even the players now need to start performing.

- It is unfortunately the case that it is the coaches who get fired and are extremely responsible.

Then I can think that none of the players performed according to expectations either, says Andersson and continues:

- This can have an effect.

Sometimes it doesn't really matter who comes in.

Without just getting a new collective energy boost.

I have played myself with Bert Robertsson and he is very committed and incredibly serious and in that way I think he laid a good foundation, so there are probably conditions for Linköping to climb the table with the player material they have.

But then the players have to start playing better too.

On Wednesday, one is up for proof when Linköping receives Örebro at home.
