2020 was a different year for everyone and the undefeated boxer Patricia Berghult (14-0) was no exception.

After becoming world champion at the end of 2019, the plan was to really establish itself in the world elite in 2020. Then the pandemic struck and put the sports world on pause.

Now it has instead been over a year since Berghult, from Rosengård in Malmö, was up in the ring.

Mainly due to difficulties in arranging galas, traveling, and finding worthy opponents for a World Cup fight.

- Had I had to decide for myself, I would have gone to the match next week.

Now we hope instead at the beginning of 2021, she says to SVT Sport.

Dad: "Warring for her sake"

To get the economy going, she now works with occupational health care for one of her sponsors in Malmö.

Her coach and father Joakim have double jobs to give Patricia the chance to live her dream as a professional boxer.

- I'm fighting for her, because she's worth it.

I want to give her the dream.

I wish she was a guy because by then she would have already been financially independent with the WBC belt in hand.

She has the nicest belt you can have, he says.
