Fredrico Pellegrino snatched away from the Frenchman Lucas Channavat in one of the climbs before the finish.

Russian tour favorite Alexander Bolshunov tried to hang on, but could never threaten Pellegrino for victory.

It was the Italian's third straight triumph in the sprint cup and now leads the tour by eight seconds ahead of Bolshunov before the continuation.

But it was also a dream start for Bolshunov who got valuable bonus seconds for the upcoming races, where 15 kilometers classic is closest to the schedule on Saturday.

Third in the final was the Frenchman Richard Jouve.

Svensson is the best Swede

For the Swedish part, Oskar Svensson was the best in the sprint.

Where he advanced to the semifinals, but once there it was a fifth place.

- I still feel quite satisfied.

I did what I could.

And it is very important for the tour to get these bonus seconds, says Oskar Svensson to SVT Sport.

Calle Halfvarsson and Johan Häggström went out already in the quarter finals.
