Real Madrid coach, French Zinedine Zidane, set out to defend his veteran defender, Brazilian Marcelo, after the latter was charged with part of the responsibility for the disappointing tie of the Royal, with a goal similar to him against Elche in the Spanish League, to give up the lead in favor of Atletico by two points.

Zidane said at the press conference after the match: "I am satisfied with the level of Marcelo, and the same is true for Asensio, and with all the players."

The Spanish press (Madrid) strongly criticized Marcelo, confirming that Zidane is complimenting the player who has advanced in age and has become heavy in movement, and that most of the attacks from opponents come from his side, as happened in the meeting with Elche.
