It was during yesterday's match away against Brooklyn that 21-year-old Ja Morant was left in severe pain after stepping sideways in a melee.
The American could not get out of the locker room for his own machine but had to be taken out in a wheelchair.
Morant, who had averaged 36 points per game in the season's two opening rounds, is now expected to be out for three to five weeks, Memphis announces.
The point guard x-rayed his foot after the match and it showed that there was no fracture.
