Quinton Byfield was drafted as the second player in this fall's NHL draft, and signed for the Los Angeles Kings shortly thereafter.

However, the winter junior WC started half heavy, and despite Canada scoring 19 goals in the first two matches, Byfield was only listed for a goal-scoring pass, which caused some criticism in the hockey-crazy Canada.

Early assist

But last night it came loose.

When Canada outscored Switzerland and won 10-0, the 18-year-old accounted for a full six points, of which two goals.

Already a minute and a half into the match, he played until Philip Tomasino, who gave Canada a dream start.

However, the goal zero was delayed until the third period before he burst.

But once it cracked, after he steered in Jamie Drysdale's shot after 45.16, (until 6-0), it did not take long before his second goal came.

In his next change, less than three minutes into the game, he struck with a direct shot on Jack Quinn's pass for 7-0.

- It was the worst that could happen to everyone else, said SVT Sports expert Jonas Andersson after Byfield's two quick goals.

- He has not played any matches this year due to the fact that he "signed" with Los Angeles, so it is possible that he has been a bit match-trained.

But now there were two goals in two substitutions, and it's a match like that when it all comes down to it.

"From clarity to clarity"

In total, there were six points for Byfield, who impressed a lot.

- He has only gone from clarity to clarity.

Now he is timing everything right.

He takes positions in front of goal, he goes right and I actually do not think I can remember seeing any players score six points in about twelve minutes of play.

Just everything goes in, Andersson said.
