Eric Lindros averaged over two points per game when Canada won the Junior World Cup in 1991. He played two more JVMs for Canada, before becoming an NHL player and one of the league's best players for a number of years.

Last night, he was a guest on SVT Sports' JVM broadcast, in the first period break between Canada and Switzerland.

He then stated that JVM is now a much more uncertain tournament.

And that the game is better.

- It's much smoother now.

The sport has really evolved.

Not just in Canada, the United States and Sweden, but all over the world.

And it's amazing to see, he said.

- I have watched Switzerland tonight, and it is 1-0 (to Canada) after the first period, and Switzerland has played perfectly okay. In the 90's we had four or five really good, and then a bunch of filling teams. But now it is much smoother.
