Kopparbergs / Göteborgs FC closes down its elite operations.

A message that was received by the women's clubs' organization Elite Women's Football with great disappointment - but also understanding.

- Very sad.

At the same time, we must look at the club's own analysis.

They consider themselves to have fulfilled the assignment they were given in 2003, to start up the damallsvenskan in Gothenburg.

Now they have reached that goal.

They became Sweden's best team, says Tomas Hoszek.

- The clubs are great and make their own decisions, we do not get involved in things like this.

But of course there will be a void.

What do you see in front of you now, in Gothenburg?

- IFK Gothenburg has started an elite business that is serious.

But it takes a few years before they are at Kopparberg / Gothenburg level.

- In the short term, there will be a vacuum, but in the long term, this should not stop the development of women's football.

Göteborgs FC leaves a place in the damallsvenskan that the Swedish Football Association is expected to offer to Moröns BK in Skellefteå, which finished third after AIK and Hammarby in the elite.
