The Saudi victory sacks its Portuguese coach Vitoria

The Saudi club Al-Nasr announced the dismissal of its Portuguese coach, Roy Vitoria, who led him to the Football League title for the 2019 season, due to poor results.

The club commented on its Instagram account on a picture of its former coach, "Thank you for the hard work and the happy moments that gave us."

Vitoria, 50, has overseen victory since January 2019, and led it to win the league title in the season before last.

It also led him to the 2019 Super Cup title, the last league and semi-finals of the Asian Champions League, where he came out on penalties in front of Persepolis of Iran.

But the capital's team decided to lay off their services after the start of a disastrous season that put them in the bottom row with only 8 points from ten matches.

Al-Nasr lost 6 matches, drew twice and won the same, which is the worst start it has achieved since the start of the Saudi Professional League.

Club president Safwan Al-Swaikt announced the dismissal of Vitoria and assigned the task of coaching the team temporarily to Alain Horvat, coach of the youth team in Al-Nasr.

Al-Suwaiket wrote on his Twitter account: “I received a heavy legacy and assumed responsibility at a difficult time, with the support of the men of victory, and we agreed to obtain a private stadium worthy of victory and its fans, and we worked to achieve balance and gradual reform while preserving the gains in difficult and compelling circumstances, and for the circumstances of the stage. We decided to restructure the football management by terminating the contract of the coaching staff led by Vitoria by mutual consent, and appointing the club's youth team coach, Allen Horvat, as the technical director of the first team temporarily. "

Vitoria's dismissal from his post came after a 2-2 positive draw against Damak at the opening of his new stadium, "Marsool Park", on Sunday in the tenth stage of the league.

Vitoria, the former midfielder, had led Benfica to the Portuguese league title twice in 2016 and 2017 before coming to victory.
