Mick Schumacher: My father is the best in Formula 1 history

Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher confirmed that his legendary father Michael Schumacher remains the best driver in the history of the World Championship, despite the success of Britain's Lewis Hamilton in the equation of achievement by winning his seventh title in the championship.

Mick Schumacher, 21, who is preparing to record his first appearance in Formula 1 through the Haas team next season, said he is not bothered by his always being compared to his father.

"I think it's okay, it doesn't bother me at all when I get questions or make comparisons," Schumacher told the weekly newspaper Bild am Sonntag.

He added, "I definitely have to go through my own career, but for me my father is the best in the history of sports. What would motivate me to distance myself from him?"

Schumacher Jr. makes his first appearance in Formula 1 via the Australian Grand Prix on March 21 in Melbourne, despite the continuing crisis of the new Corona virus.

"It will be an exceptional moment for me in general," said Schumacher, as he would follow in his father's footsteps.

"Yes, you can say that, I think it will be very influential."

"But I look forward to the challenge, leadership and working with the team," he added.

His mother, Corina, continues to play an important role in Schumacher's development. "She is the first person I talk to, she is the best one I can consult and she is always the first person I contact."

Schumacher, the father, has not appeared in public since he suffered a tragic accident while skiing at the end of 2013, when he suffered severe injuries from which he is still recovering at his home in Geneva.
