Charlie Dalin, who took the lead in the Vendée Globe in the morning, keeps it in the 5 p.m. standings on Friday, where he slightly increased his lead, now 34 miles (just over 60 km), over the previous leader Yannick Bestaven .

Boris Herrmann, still third, slightly reduced his delay on Dalin, who is only 225 miles ahead of him against 254 at the end of the morning.

Nothing is played yet

No change behind, where the oldest of the race Jean Le Cam is still 4th on board his old sailboat without foils (appendages which allow the boat to rise above the surface of the water), followed by a pack of five sailors standing in 50 miles.

Approaching Point Nemo, the farthest point on the globe from any land, equidistant between the southern tip of New Zealand and Cape Horn, the head of the fleet crosses a depression from the north.

The first two headed north in order to avoid the heart of the high pressure and seek a shift of wind, and are advancing at low speed in choppy seas.
