Among them, the AFC will get 6 direct promotion places.

  FIFA stated that the success of the 2019 Women's World Cup expansion has allowed them to decide to expand to 32 teams in the 2023 Women's World Cup to continue to promote the development of women's football.

Subsequently, FIFA and the various continental football federations worked together to finalize the quota allocation, and yesterday decided the number of quotas for each continent.

  Distribution of 29 direct promotion places:

  AFC-6 seats;

  Non-Football Federation-4 seats;

  Central North America and Caribbean Football Federation-4 seats;

  South American Football Federation-3 seats;

  Oceania Football Federation-1 seat;

  UEFA-11 seats.

  Australia and New Zealand, the two host countries of the 2023 World Cup, will advance directly to the finals, and their seats have been allocated to their respective AFC and Oceania Football Confederations.

The remaining 3 seats will be determined through the play-offs, and the qualifications will be determined based on the last FIFA ranking before the play-offs. There is at most one seeded team per continent.

  The play-offs will be divided into three groups. The first group and the second group will each have a seeded team and two non-seeded teams. The two non-seeded teams in each group will have a knockout match. The seeded teams play against each other; there are two seeded teams in the third group. They will face a non-seeded team. The winners of the next two games will compete for the final spot.

Teams from the same continent will not be placed in the same group when drawing lots.

  The play-offs will also be used as a test match for the Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. The two host teams will also be invited to play friendly matches with the teams in the first and second groups. This will also ensure that every Both teams played two games.
