Klopp confirms that Salah Said is in Liverpool

German coach Juergen Klopp responded today to speculation about the future of Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah, saying that the latter is happy in the "Premier League".

The 28-year-old gave an interview in Spain last week in which he said that Barcelona and Real Madrid are big teams and "who knows what will happen in the future."

These statements sparked speculation about whether Salah is seeking a new long-term contract after 2023, or if he was upset about Trent Alexander Arnold's captaincy in the Medjeland match in the Champions League.

"We don't usually talk about deals, not with you (the media). Why should we start now?" Klopp said in a press conference ahead of his team's match with struggling West Bromwich on Sunday.

"Mo (Salah) is in a good mood, he is in really good shape and that is the most important thing for me," he added.

"We did not receive pictures (from the training ground) this morning, but if you found you would see him laughing, he enjoyed the class. All that remains is a beautiful thing for all of you to write about, but internally no, nothing really."

Nothing affected Salah's performance on the pitch this season.

He scored 13 goals in the league, and missed only one match due to his infection with the emerging coronavirus.
