Hanshin's Suarez, who won the title with the most saves this season in the Central League of professional baseball but had a free contract, has agreed to remain on the team next season.

Suarez joined Hanshin from Softbank this season, his fifth year in Japan, and won the title with the most saves by making 25 saves with a straight that exceeds 160 km at the fastest.

After the end of the season, the team asked to stay, but the major league teams were also moving to acquire Suarez pitchers, so negotiations with the Hanshin Tigers were not finalized and a free contract was made on December 2.

In Hanshin, relief teams such as pitcher Kyuji Fujikawa, who retired from active duty, have left the team one after another, so he has been persistently continuing negotiations with Suarez and has agreed to sign a new contract from next season by the 24th.

The contract period is expected to be two years, and the annual salary is estimated to be about 260 million yen, which is more than tripled from about 80 million yen this season.

"I'm happy to be part of the Tigers again, and I'll do my best to contribute to the victory so that I can win next season," said Suarez.
