Major League Soccer player Hyun-jin Ryu was selected as the winner of the Warren Span Award for the best left-handed pitcher.



The Warren Span Award was established in 1999 in honor of Warren Span's achievements in the record of winning the most left-handed pitcher with 363 wins in his career.



It is the award given to the best left-handed pitcher of the season. Among left-handed pitchers who filled the regular innings this season, Ryu Hyun-jin, who ranked 3rd in many wins, 2nd in ERA and 2nd in strikeouts, was selected as the winner.



Ryu Hyun-jin is the first Asian player to receive this award.
