Jürgen Klopp continues to clear.

After leading Liverpool to their first championship in 30 years in the summer, they are back in first place in the Premier League this season and have won personal awards.

Last week he was voted FIFA World Coach and now defended his title as English Coach of the Year while his team was voted Team of the Year.

The triple triumph was prevented by Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton, who was voted Sportsman of the Year and relegated to second place a man whose services Jürgen Klopp sees too little appreciation anyway: his team captain Jordan Henderson.

The 30-year-old midfielder is actually not a superstar.

Neither on nor off the pitch.

But Henderson is exactly what a team needs: a tireless worker and team player who sacrifices himself for the others.

And a good captain: after the championship in the summer, he wrote each of his colleagues a personal letter expressing his thanks.

Now he got a letter too.

Namely from Jürgen Klopp.

The German trainer read this out at the sports gala broadcast by the BBC.

Klopp's letter in full

“Hello friend, hello captain.

When we won the Premier League title, you wrote each of us a letter.

Now it's my turn to write you this letter.

They claim this Liverpool team has no star.

For us, the star is the team - that's true.

But you're a superstar at making us this team.

Jordan, people ignore your qualities too often.

But I don't and neither do your teammates.

After a long journey with many obstacles, everyone can see it: your personality, your character, your skills.

The complete package.

You led this club to the end of the 30 year wait.

You did this with humility and humility.

You are a world-class athlete, a world-class soccer player and an even better person.

Thanks for everything my friend.

With love, Jürgen!
