At 1:30 p.m. today, the first mountain bike race for Emirati amateurs and professionals will start, which is being held within the fifth edition of the Ladder Cycling Championship, under the patronage and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, And organized by His Highness Office for Procurement and Finance.

The organizing committee of the championship had included the mountain bike race, to be experimental this year, as it adopted a distinctive race track in Saih al-Salam, extending for a distance of 32 km, in the middle of natural areas surrounded by Arabian gazelles.

147 participants will participate in the race, 128 in the amateur category, and 19 in the professional and club category.

Al Falasi expected that this race would be strong at the technical level, and carry a new type of excitement and anticipation, similar to other races held within the championship annually for the categories of men and women.

He concluded by saying: “The Organizing Committee completed all the arrangements for the race, as it established (Peace Village) in the middle of the Desert Nature Reserve and near the race track, and the arbitration committee was fully accredited by Emirati cadres, in support of the people of the country, and striving to raise and strengthen administrative competencies in various fields. .

The fifth edition of the Ladder Cycling Championship was launched at the beginning of this month with the establishment of the Emirati amateur race. On January 11, the Emirati women's amateur race will be held, followed on the next day by a race in the professional category, known as "elite", with a distance of 127 km, with the participation of citizens, residents and foreigners, from the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, by 10 participants from each country, and a total of 80 riders.

The championship will conclude its competitions, on January 25, with the establishment of the Emirati amateur race, with the participation of 60 cyclists, competing for a distance of 127 km, and it is scheduled that the first 20 places from the first race of this season will participate in this race, with a qualifying race to complete the rest of the other 40 seats.
