On Saturday night and Sunday, Alexandersson participated in a sprint and a "vertical" in ski alpinism in the Italian Pontedilegno-Tonale.

In the sprint, which in the layout is reminiscent of cross-country skiing, Alexandersson finished eighth while she finished second in today's "vertical" where you ski up a slalom slope, much like the last stage of the Tour de Ski but longer.

- The one who won the race jerked immediately and I was fifth and picked places all the time and it was about second place it was a fight, says Alexandersson about the battle for second place after the Frenchwoman Axelle Mollareet Gachet who with 28.56 was 25 seconds ahead of the Swede.

It is a huge challenge to ski up a slalom slope, something that suits the fitness phenomenon Alexandersson.

"Got out what I had"

- It felt good in the body, I am very new to the sport and have not taken so many vertical competitions but was able to get a good setup on the race and succeeded well.

It was very fun to compete and I got what I had, says Alexandersson.

It was your first podium finish in the World Cup in ski alpinism and a new milestone in your career.

- Yes and it was great fun to get on the podium.

I am very pleased with that, says Alexandersson.

The league captain followed the competition on site in Italy.

- Both competitions were good by Tove and she showed that she is one of the strongest participants even though she is new and learns all the time, I am really impressed, says national team captain Remi Francais.

Alexandersson is now returning to Sweden for a training period.

The next World Cup competition is not until the end of January.

But the corona pandemic has an iron grip on the world.

- It is very difficult to know what is happening, Alexandersson thinks.
