The Swedish Sports Confederation (RF) has developed four different scenarios for 2021. In the best of them, sports will suffer a total of four billion kronor in lost revenue.

That is why the government has currently asked for two billion in support for the coming year.

But so far no answer has been given.

- Before 2021, we are one of the players that has received zero kronor right now.

It's not viable.

I get positive indications when I talk to the government, but I have to be told.

I wonder how long the zero will remain and how long it is until these indications are translated into actual decisions, says Björn Eriksson.

- If we are to be able to get through this, we must get a handle as well.

Lind willing to provide more support

To date, the Swedish Sports Confederation has distributed a total of SEK 1.5 billion - SEK 500 million in the spring and SEK 1 billion in the autumn - in special compensation support due to the corona pandemic.

For the period 1 October to 31 December, RF has 446 million left to distribute from the support of one billion that has been allocated.

Minister of Sports Amanda Lind (MP) was asked about a possible new crisis support for sports at a press conference earlier this week.

- The signals I get are that the support has been absolutely crucial for clubs and associations to be able to survive.

No one believes that in the near future we will be able to return to some kind of normal situation, but the pandemic will still affect the sports movement.

Then we must be prepared to push for more support.

Of course I see that need, says Amanda Lind.

"A real problem"

But so far, sports have not been notified before the new year.

- It's now we're bleeding.

If we are to bleed, we must know if there is a savior's wreath around the corner.

If there is no information, or that there is for others but not for sports that zero continues to apply to us, then we have a real problem, says Björn Eriksson.
