Alexis Pinturault, still in search of the big Crystal Globe, won the 31st race of his career by winning the Alta Badia Giant on Sunday.

The French won by seven hundredths ahead of the Norwegian Atle Lie McGrath, 20, who climbs for the first time on the podium in the World Cup.

First also in the Top 3 for the Swiss Justin Murisier, third at 24 hundredths.

"It's great, it was very close but winning here is always special, it's a myth," commented the 29-year-old Frenchman, who signs his 31st World Cup success, his first in a giant in Italy.

Alexis Pinturault (376 pts) takes the lead of the general, with only one point ahead of the defending champion of the big globe, the Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Kilde (375 pts), sixth Sunday at Alta Badia after his two victories in a row, Friday and Saturday, in Val Gardena in super-G and downhill.
