Fändrich took up the hunt for Natalia Neprjajeva and passed at the beginning of the riot and won with 0.32 in the sunshine in the German city on the banks of the Elbe.

Before the last change, Julia Stupak had gone a little grand for Russia but a wide curve made the chasing teams approach, Switzerland had Laurien van der Graaff there.

Russian victory in the men's class

In the men's class, Russia won after Gleb Retivykh pulled the whole distance and kept out ahead of France's Lucas Chanavat.

On the penultimate leg, Alexander Bolshunov drove everything he had and cracked the field except for Richard Jouve in France who managed to join.

Italy's Federico Pellegrino approached at the end but ended up in the corridor behind Chanavat and finished third.
