Elvira Öberg became the best Swede at Friday's World Cup sprint in the Austrian Hochfilzen.

The 21-year-old managed with a boom in the horizontal shooting and finished fifth.

A grateful starting position for Saturday's hunt start.

- It really is a great starting point.

It is clear that it is a short distance up to Tiril (Eckhoff) who goes out first but we will go out a good bunch behind, so it will probably be driving right from the start, it will be fun, she says to TT.

"Pretty easy course"

Öberg has 27 seconds to pick up again in Norwegian, but can get some traction from big sister Hanna Öberg who starts two seconds later.

- We have traveled many hours together this summer and we should probably be able to help each other as best we can, she says.

What does it take to beat the Norwegians?

- As usual when it is the start of the hunt, it is on the shooting range that it will be decided, especially when it is a fairly easy course here in Hochfilzen.

The 21-year-old has been one of the big Swedish exclamation marks during the start of the biathlon season and lined up several nice placements.

"It's awesome"

After last year's debut season in the World Cup, where she best took a 13th place, Öberg has now taken the podium on three occasions.

Among other things, she was part of the relay team that won in Kontiolax.

- I am very happy with the start I have had.

I have felt that I have taken a step, but that I am four in total, it's cool, she says.

Now she hopes to stay in the world cup top, and if possible narrow down further on big sister Öberg in second place.

- Every point is important and there are many competitions that will be counted out when we sum up the season.

I'm just incredibly happy that I'm so high up in the total, it's hard to say anything else.
