Things are still moving at Red Bull.

Called in August 2019 to replace a Pierre Gasly deemed too efficient for the ambitions of the Austrian team, the Thai Alexander Albon will not have lasted long at Red Bull either.

We have indeed learned that the driver will be replaced next season by Mexican Sergio Perez (Racing Point).

A nice promotion for the one who was not kept by Racing Point, who preferred to bet next year on the four-time German world champion Sebastian Vettel.

Ten times on the podium since his debut, Perez (passed by Sauber in 2011-2012, McLaren in 2013 and Force India / Racing Point since 2014) finally won a victory, at the end of 2020, at the GP of Sakhir in Bahrain.

He has also just completed the best season of his career by finishing fourth in the last championship (with 125 points).

Red Bull draws exceptionally from the competition

It will be interesting to see how the Mexican, known for his strong character, will cohabit with Verstappen, also a strong head and especially darling of his bosses Christian Horner and Helmut Marko.

On the side of Red Bull, it is a new twist in the difficult succession of the Australian Daniel Ricciardo, who left in 2019. And, exceptionally, it is for once calling on a driver who is not from his sector , since Pierre Gasly has been confirmed for 2021 at Alpha Tauri.

Albon will remain at Red Bull anyway, but as a reserve driver.

After this announcement, there is only one question mark that is not really one about the starting grid next season: defending champion Lewis Hamilton, who will be 36 in January, renegotiates his contract with Mercedes .
