The number of physical education teachers in compulsory education nationwide increased from 502,000 to 595,000, and approximately 20,000 new physical education teachers are added each year, with an average annual growth rate of 4.3%.
Among them, 24,320 physical education teachers were added in 2018, and 18,991 physical education teachers were added in 2019.
At the same time, by the end of 2019, the national elementary and middle school sports venues have reached the standard rate of 90.22% and 93.54% respectively, which is a significant increase from the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period.
