Favre's dismissal from Dortmund training after the Stuttgart five-year term

A report in Germany said on Sunday that Swiss coach Lucien Favre paid a heavy price by dismissing him from his post, just 24 hours after the humiliating defeat of his team, Borussia Dortmund, at the hands of Stuttgart, by five goals for Saturday's goal in the Bundesliga.

According to the newspaper "Bild", the Borussia Dortmund players will be informed of the decision to dismiss Favre, 63, during the team's training session.

Favre took over Dortmund in the summer of 2018, but despite his 15-game unbeaten run at the start of his career with the team to top the table by nine points, his team failed to keep pace with Bayern Munich, who won the title on the last day of that season.

Bayern seemed to have more power than Dortmund during the 2019/2020 season, which was greatly affected by the Corona pandemic, when Favre's team settled in second place as always.

Dortmund is currently fifth in the Bundesliga after losing three in a row at home and winning only once in the last five matches, leaving Bayern and Leipzig five points clear.

Favre also failed to lead Dortmund to win the German Cup as the team were knocked out of the third round twice under the leadership of the Swiss coach.
