Thanks to goal scorer Simon Terodde, second division Hamburger SV has ended its negative streak of five games without a win.

With his season goals number ten and eleven to 2-1 (0-0) at SV Darmstadt 98, the striker gave HSV the much-needed sense of achievement in the fight for promotion after three defeats.

First, Terodde met in the 70th minute in the margin, after he failed with a penalty to 98 goalkeeper Marcel Schuhe.

In the 87th minute, the striker got the final score.

Tobias Kempe (78th) managed to equalize for the Hessians, who ended the game after a yellow-red card for Patrick Herrmann (74th).

After the recent negative experiences, both teams were mainly concerned with defensive stability in the first half.

HSV initially had slight visual advantages.

However, scoring chances remained scarce and at best resulted from standard situations.

The second half was livelier.

In the end, the HSV cheered, which with 20 points kept up with the top trio.

Holstein Kiel successfully defended their lead in the standings.

The North Germans won 3: 2 (2: 1) at Jahn Regensburg and thus ranked first with 22 points, ahead of Greuther Fürth and VfL Bochum, who were also victorious on Friday.

Jae-Sung Lee scored the goals for Kiel with a double (32nd / 37th) and Fin Bartels (66th).

In the third game of Saturday, 1. FC Heidenheim defeated Hannover 96 1-0 (1-0) with a goal from their striker Christian Kühlwetter and improved to fifth in the table.
