Nippon Professional Baseball Chunichi announced that it has acquired Kosuke Fukudome, the oldest active 43-year-old player who has a free contract with Hanshin Tigers.

It's been 14 years since I returned to China.

Fukudome is from Kagoshima prefecture and is the oldest active player, 43 years old.

In 1999, he joined Chunichi in 1st place in the draft and won the top batter twice. In 2006, he became the MVP = Most Valuable Player and contributed to the league championship three times in nine years.

After challenging the major leagues in 2008 and playing for five years, he returned to the Japanese baseball world in Hanshin, and in 2016, he achieved 2000 hits in total in Japan and the United States, the sixth Japanese player.

However, he only participated in 43 games this season and had a free contract with the Hanshin Tigers.

Under these circumstances, Chunichi Dragons, who finished third this season but has the lowest score in the league and is facing the challenge of strengthening the batting line, has begun to win and announced that he will join the team on the 12th.

Fukudome returned to Chunichi for the first time in 14 years, and his uniform number was "9".

We will formally sign a contract on the 18th of this month and hold a press conference.

Through the team, Fukudome commented, "I am happy to be able to wear a uniform. I want to take advantage of the opportunity I have received and do my best to do what I can."
