Due to the corona pandemic, both Norway and Sweden have chosen to host the cross-country ski World Cup competitions in both Davos and Dresden.

Norway has also turned down the Tour de Ski.

But the competition, which starts in Swiss Val Müstair on January 1, will take place with Swedish participation.

That decision was made by the Swedish Ski Association on Friday morning.

- It is an enormous amount of work that has been done to be able to minimize the risk of being exposed to infection on the way to the Tour de Ski.

We know that the interest in seeing the Swedish skiers is great, just as great is the desire from the team to get away and therefore it feels fantastic that we have found a solution, says Daniel Fåhreaus on the ski association's website.

"Has worked hard"

The national team will travel to an airport near Val Müstair in its own aircraft.

- We have worked hard to minimize the risks of getting infection in the squad.

Fis' (the International Ski Federation) changes on site and our own planning for travel, accommodation and transport on site have now been adjusted so much that I can feel confident in giving the go-ahead for the team to go, says national team owner Per Andersson.
