- I was a bit tired at this intermediate height but it is a stable race and I am satisfied.

I took time while lying down and fought standing up, says Samuelsson to SVT Sport.

The French were terribly fast on the track.

Quentin Fillon Maillet shot full and was 27 seconds faster than Samuelsson.

After several of the ladies showed weak riding form in the track earlier in the day, there were some fears before the men's competition, but Sebastian Samuelsson showed good riding form and shot full.

Even faster in the track was Martin Ponsiluoma who had one boom in horizontal and two in vertical.

- It's two too many, but it seems as if the form of ride holds up, says Björn Ferry about Ponsiluoma's efforts.

Samuelsson took time on the embankment, 33 seconds, but put all shots on the first shot and followed up with full even in the standing shot.

The Norwegians started late.

Most recently, Tarjei Bö started as number 108.

- We thought that it would be plus degrees and that it would then freeze.

Now it does not seem to be like that but it is no disadvantage to start late, said Johannes Thingnes Bö to SVT Sport before the start.

The competition is ongoing
