This weekend's World Cup competition in Davos will be the first for the season without Swedish participation.

Last week, Sweden, Norway and Finland announced that they will skip the remaining competitions until the turn of the year.

The national team will instead hold internal competitions in Östersund next week.

Maja Dahlqvist would have liked to have been in Switzerland, but respects the decision made.

- It is clear that it is sad not to compete.

There are two courses that suit me very well.

Almost the best at the entire World Cup, but it will be a different year and you have to be prepared for a lot of reversals, she says.

World Cup in sight

How do you motivate yourself now?

- It is a bit uncertain in the future.

The biggest goal is probably the World Cup next year and I believe and hope that we will still go there.

You have to have it as a goal and focus all the time, so I think it should go well anyway.

An airy competition schedule has resulted in several Swedish stars starting to look towards the Tour de Ski, which will be decided between 1 and 10 January.

Norway has nobbed the tour due to the risk of infection, while Sweden is awaiting a decision.
