Just over a month ago, a corona-stricken Shakhtar Donetsk shocked Real Madrid away and won 3-2.

Since then, Real Madrid have crossed against Borussia Mönchengladbach and taken two straight victories against Inter.

But a win was still desirable for Real when they visited Shakhtar in a Kiev that offered snowfall on Tuesday night.

Despite several good situations, including an early post hit from Marco Asensio, it was 0-0 at half time.

Shafts ahead at mutual meetings

In the second half, Sjachtar did as in the first match, shocked Real Madrid.

In the 56th minute, the home team switched and replaced Dentinho could put 1-0.

And with barely ten minutes left of full time, Manor Solomon stood for a fine performance when he advanced and drilled in 2-0 with his right foot, something that was the end result.

With one round left of the group stage, Real Madrid is third in Group B, on the same points (7) as Sjachtar.

But the Ukrainians benefit from mutual meetings.

- We have had bad results lately but the only way forward is to continue.

This was a "final" that we were prepared for, but the ball just did not want to enter tonight.

Now we have one match left - we have to win it and move on, Real coach Zinedine Zidane told uefa.com.

Thrilling final round

Real Madrid will face Borussia Mönchengladbach in the final round at home while Sjachtar will face Inter away.

Just Inter took a lead 3-2 victory away against Mönchengladbach later in the evening since Romelu Lukaku made both 2-1 and 3-1.

Alassane Pléa, who scored a hat-trick against Shakhtar a month ago, looked to redo the feat against Inter and give his Mönchengladbach an important point.

But his late 3-3 goal was ruled out after a VAR review ruled teammate Breel Embolo, who affected the game, offside.

They still lead the group on eight points and Inter are still four, but now with five points.

Before the final round, all four teams have a chance to advance.
