As many as four Swedes were in the sprint final in Ruka.

Linn Svahn succeeded best, winning the final after going east on the last hill uphill and creating a gap for other competitors before the end.

In the race, three Swedes made up for the victory: Svahn, Maja Dahlqvist and Jonna Sundling.

But Svahn was unstoppable and won 0.57 before Dahlqvist and 0.70 before Sundling.

Emma Ribom, the fourth Swede in the final, finished sixth.

Svahn was very strong right from the start in the final session and won both the quarterfinals and the semifinals in superior style.

- She is in her own universe, oh what she impresses, said SVT Sports expert Anders Blomquist after the semifinals.

For Moa Lundgren, it stopped in the semifinals.

Afterwards, with an ice pack in her hand, Lundgren said that she had not been able to train with poles for eleven weeks.

- I have had a hand that swells as soon as I use rods so it has not been possible to hold a rod, says Lundgren who had hoped for more in the sprint.

- I'm a little frustrated.

I feel stronger than the results show.

But it was fun to compete again.

Anna Dyvik and Frida Karlsson were the only Swedes to go to the quarterfinals.

Dyvik has been pulled with back problems and finished third in his heat.

A disappointed Dyvik is now considering breaking the minitour in Ruka.

- I thought I felt refreshed but then I could not take in. I will see if I continue.

It depends on how bad your back gets after this, she says.

Therese Johaug was also eliminated in the quarterfinals.

The Norwegian was suspended in the starting rush and was last in the finish.

- It was all right.

Sprint is not my strongest distance, but it feels good for tomorrow, says Johaug.
