A great favorite, and a host of fine outsiders.

The list of nominees for the Fifa The Best award - the most prestigious individual award this year in the absence of the Ballon d'Or - was unveiled on Wednesday.

Robert Lewandowski, the goal machine for Bayern Munich, is in favor of the predictions.

Behind, Parisians Neymar and Kylian Mbappé are applying, just like Ronaldo and Messi.

Only one other Champions League winner with Bayern is on the list: midfielder Thiago Alcantara, transferred to Liverpool in September.

The English champion places the most players in this list with, in addition to the Spaniard, Sadio Mané, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk.

Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Ramos complete the selection.

On the women's side, five European champions with Lyon are shortlisted: Lucy Bronze (since transferred to Manchester City), Delphine Cascarino, Saki Kumagai, Dzsenifer Maroszan and Wendie Renard.

UEFA award winner Pernille Harder is on the list, as are Caroline Graham Hansen, Jennifer Hermoso, Sam Kerr and Vivianne Medina.

The flamboyant Marcelo Bielsa who landed a promotion to the Premier League with Leeds is a candidate for the male coach of the year award, alongside Zinédine Zidane (Real Madrid), Hansi Flick (Bayern Munich), Jürgen Klopp (Liverpool) and Julen Lopetegui (Seville).

Prize giving ceremony on December 17th

Finally, the always spectacular selection for the goal of the year is also known.

There are three women and eight men.

Among them, the eternal Dédé Gignac, named for a magnificent inverted chisel planted with the Tigers.

The winners will be chosen by a vote of the coaches and captains of all national teams, journalists and supporters.

The three finalists in each category will be announced on December 11 and the awards ceremony is scheduled for December 17.
