After the death of Diego Maradona, Guy Roux, consultant of Europe 1, salutes the memory of a player "completely brilliant".

Pelé, Platini, all the greatest legends on Wednesday greeted the memory of Diego Maradona, who died at the age of 60.

At the microphone of Europe 1, our consultant Guy Roux pays tribute to a "completely brilliant" player.

The Argentinian "had gifts from God", he reacts, referring in particular to the famous hand goal scored in 1986 against England, nicknamed "the hand of God".

For the former coach of AJ Auxerre, the icon of Naples and the Argentine selection "did not learn much" during his training because he did not need it.

"I think that at 14, he was already playing as well as at 22," he said. 

"Glory hurt him a lot"

"In terms of football, he has always been wonderful," continues Guy Roux, returning once again to the hand against England, one of the most memorable episodes of Maradona's career.

"As he was a facetious, wonderful man, for him, we even accepted this sin", he assures us, before returning briefly to the many excesses of the Argentinian: "The glory harmed him a lot".
