Earlier in the day, Italian Sky Sport reported that the Swedish football star risks being gone for three to four weeks.

But after Ibrahimovic was investigated on Monday, a spokesman for the club announces that the attacking star will have to stand by the pitch for two to three weeks.

In Sunday's 3-1 match against Napoli, Ibrahimovic scored two goals.

He was forced to leave the field after 79 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin.

According to Sky Sport, Ibrahimovic had felt something was broken, but still he ran to defend the team at a corner.

Immediately afterwards, he linked off the pitch.

The attacking star received treatment with ice immediately after he stepped off the field.

Europa League this week

- It is a muscular problem, but we do not know the extent.

We have no indication of that, but it is not uncommon for Ibra to have to leave the pitch.

We will see, assistant coach Daniele Bonera told Sky Sport.

Milan have a Europa League match against Lille on Thursday and meet Fiorentina in Serie A on Sunday.

Hailed by the Napoli coach

Ibrahimovic's ten goals in the start of Serie A have led him to lead the shooting league and Milan to lead the league.

After the match, the 39-year-old was hailed by the opposing team's coach Gennaro Gattuso.

- For me, Zlatan is stronger now than ten or twelve years ago.

Milan strongly believes in Ibra and his teammates trust him 100 percent.

In my opinion, they do not have the strongest team, but the mentality, said Gattuso.

This spring, Ibrahimovic was away for just over a month with a calf injury.

This autumn, he was tested positive for the coronavirus and was away for just over three weeks.
