Atlético Madrid is angry that sixteen people with the national team of Uruguay have already tested positive for the corona virus.

Among them Luis Suárez, who as a result cannot play with the Madrid people against his old club FC Barcelona.

"The Uruguayan Football Association has not been careful," said Atlético President Enrique Cerezo, who is considering filing a complaint against the Asociación Uruguaya de Fútbol (AUF).

Atlético provides proof of a photo showing that nine players are barbecuing.

Five of them have been infected, including Suárez.

Health Minister Daniel Salinas in Uruguay has asked the AUF for clarification.

Diego Godín was the last victim of the corona wave in Uruguay on Friday.

Gabriel Neves, Matias Vina, Rodrigo Munoz, Alexis Rolín, Diego Rossi, Lucas Torreira, Darwin Núnez, Brian Rodriguez and thus Suárez preceded him, while six officials were also infected.

For Suárez that is extra sour because he will now miss seeing FC Barcelona on Saturday.

The attacker was told last summer that he could leave the Catalans and opted for a transfer to Atlético, for which he has already scored five times.

Atlético, which also has to do without Torreira, is in third place in the La Liga rankings and FC Barcelona can only be found in eighth place.

The difference between the two teams is six points.
