On a track made very wet by the rain, the British driver Lewis Hamilton adopted the best strategy to win the Turkish Grand Prix ahead of Sergio Perez and Sebastian Vettel.

A success synonymous with the 7th world title for the Mercedes driver, who in the process equaled Michael Schumacher's record.

Struggling all weekend on the very slippery Istanbul Park track, Lewis Hamilton, sixth on the starting grid, found the necessary resources, those of a great champion, to clinch victory at the Turkish Grand Prix .

While there are still three races to go, the Briton, in tears after the finish, wins his seventh Formula 1 world title, his fourth in a row.

Lewis Hamilton equaled at the same time the record of the German Michael Schumacher and entered a little more into the legend of his sport.

94th victory in Formula 1

It is the 94th success of Lewis Hamilton, who beat in Turkey the Mexican Sergio Perez and the German Sebastian Vettel.

His teammate Valtteri Bottas, who was still the only one able to deprive the Briton of a new world crown, finished only in 14th place after a nightmarish race.

The high point of an unprecedented season, the start of which was delayed by the Covid-19 epidemic.

It is therefore the seventh title of world champion for Lewis Hamilton, he who was crowned for the first time in 2008 on McLaren, before winning six other successes (2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020) with his current manufacturer Mercedes.

But the British driver has still not extended his contract and could even leave Formula 1 at the end of the season.
