The indestructible Jean Le Cam is in the lead -

Sebastien SALOM-GOMIS / SIPA

Things are going strong in this Vendée Globe!

A little too much for some.

Louis Burton was fined five hours at the start of Les Sables for crossing the start line too early.

Quite the opposite of Fabrice Amedeo, forced to turn around because of damage.

On the other hand, things are going much better for Jean Le Cam, who is taking advantage of the quest for wind from the best foilers to take the lead in the race.

The classification at 9 a.m.

North or South, the strategic battle is already starting

We will not talk about major maneuvers yet, but we can already observe differences in strategy between the favorites, further north, and those who, like Jean Le Cam, have taken a more straight line.

Between Herrmann, in the far north, and Sorel, in the south, there are already more than 40 miles.

So don't be surprised to see Jérémie Beyou, Charlie Dalin or Nicolas Troussel beyond 15th place: it's all part of a carefully considered plan.

At this stage of the race, Alex Thomson is the first favorite (11th).

U-turn for Fabrice Amedeo

As tradition dictates, there is always a fish from Les Sables d'Olonne.

Four years ago, it was Didac Costa.

This year, it's up to Fabrice Amedeo to turn around after having already covered 50 miles.

A headsail hook problem forced him to review his plans.

Due to overly complicated repair conditions at anchor, the skipper has chosen to return to port to repair his boat and hopes to leave as soon as possible.

Thomas Rettant also experienced a slight hook problem and is waiting for more favorable conditions at sea to resolve the problem for the moment without major consequences since he is in Dalin's wake on Apivia.

"They see me, they see me more"

We lost Arnaud Boissières in the dark night.

The skipper of the Mie Câline was not classified last night due to a tag problem which made him untraceable on the official cartography.

In the morning, everything is back to normal and Boissières is in 20th position.

Never again, Arnaud.
