Here it is, it's over… This Sunday, in an interview with Canal +, the defender Grégory Sertic announced his retirement, after repeated injuries.

Champion of France with the Girondins in 2009, he "never really recovered" from his serious knee injury in 2015, he said.

Recruited by OM in 2017, he has only played 19 league games in three years (no goals).

"The last few years at OM have been very complicated, both physically and mentally," explained the one who also played on loan at Lens (2010-2011) and FC Zurich (2019).

A future coach?

“The last surgeon arrived, and told me it was no longer possible.

It hurt my morale, because I want to, but physically, I no longer have the capacity to be a professional player.

So we think about our future, I don't want to limp all my life, ”he continued.

Sertic had his best years with Bordeaux (2008-2017), where he played 181 L1 games (7 goals) and discovered the Champions League (3 entries into play).

The native of Brétigny-sur-Orge (Essonne) indicated that he wanted to continue as a coach.
