Rafael Nadal was eliminated on Saturday in the semi-finals of the Masters tournament in Paris.
The Spaniard lost in two sets to Alexander Zverev, who will take on Daniil Medvedev in the final battle on Sunday.
The 23-year-old Zverev, who also managed to win his previous encounter with Nadal (ATP Finals in 2019), needed just over a hundred minutes to put 6-4 and 7-5 on the scoreboard.
Zverev served strongly and hit thirteen aces, among other things.
The losing finalist of the US Open had enough in the first act, in the third game, to drag the set to himself.
In the second set, the German struck again in the third game, but Nadal turned a 2-4 deficit to make it 5-4.
Zverev broke the twenty-time Grand Slam winner again at 5-5 and then served the match.
The final of the Masters tournament in Paris is scheduled for Sunday.
Zverev meets Medvedev, who was too strong for Milos Raonic on Saturday 6-4 and 7-6 (4).
Last year, the title went to Novak Djokovic, who was absent this year, who is already certain of first place in the ATP ranking at the end of this season.
