He asked the Manufacturers and Equipment Association (MSMA) for permission to open his engines and when they refused, he also manipulated the devices and solved the problem.
Once the trap was discovered, the FIM opened a file and this week in Valencia there was a meeting with strange results.
Although according to various sources, Yamaha admitted the irregularity and the body certified that "the brand did not respect the protocol", the sanction will not affect the World Cup.
With the engines fixed,
Fabio Quartararo
and Maverick Viñales did double in the first Jerez race, but they will not be punished: the case closed with 50 points less for Yamaha in the Manufacturers' World Championship and a penalty similar to their two teams in the Team World Cup.
